Andrew Lodmell began his wine making adventure through his love for nature and agriculture. Born in Walla Walla and a 1986 Whitman College graduate in Environmental Sciences, he returned to his roots in 1990 to manage the 4th generation family farm.
The Lodmell family planted Lodmell Vineyards on the Lower Snake River, 40 miles NW of Walla Walla in Walla Walla County, roughly 20 years ago. As a sustainable local grower, Andrew produces high quality fruit resulting in wines with dense color and intense flavors.
In 2005, Andrew crushed the first Lodmell Cellars Estate Merlot and moved the winery production to the Port of Walla Walla Incubators.
Lodmell Cellars continues to produce some of Walla Walla’s finest Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Each wine is hand crafted and barrel aged in small lots. Additional Lodmell Cellars varietals include Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, Estate Saignee (rose), Estate Syrah, Sublime (Red Blend), Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Semillon and Port.
